Saturday, July 31

10.35 — Departure from Amsterdam Airport

12.30 — Arrival at Warsaw Airport

Bus to Biebrza, Lunch on the road (road restaurant).

Ca. 16.30 — Passing Narew river (view); first impressions of Biebrza Lower Basin along Tsars Road.

Ca. 17.30 — Arrival at Osowiec; Office of Biebrza National Park, welcome by Director and introductory slide show.

Ca. 19.00 — Arrival at Bartek Hotel, Goniadz, supper and relax.

Sunday, August 1

8.00 — Breakfast

9.00 — Holy Mass in Catholic Church; alternatively explore the river side by foot.

10.30 — Leave by bus to Biebrza Upper Basin  (overview map)

11.30 - 14.00 — Explore the spring-fed rich fens, transitional fens and river by foot close to Szuszalewo; field lunch

14.00 - 16.00 — By buss through upper basin and middle basin along Sztabin - Augustow Canal - Jaglowo - Dolistowo. Several stops.

16.00 - 17.00 — Visit Kopytkowo - viewpoint.

18.00 — Goniadz: Supper and relax.

Monday, August 2

8.00 — Breakfast

9.00 — Leave by bus to Red Bog (Middle Basin). Several stops on the way (fortresses First World War, viewpoint, fen meadows at Kuligi).  (overview map)

10.00 - 16.00 — Explore the Red Bog by foot in surroundings of Grzedy; field lunch (rubber boots!!!).

16.00 - 20.00 — BBQ at BNP station Grzedy.

21.00 — Arrival at hotel; relax.

Tuesday, August 3 8.00 — Breakfast 9.00 — Leave by bus to Lower Basin.  (overview map) 10.00 — Explore by foot floodplain meadows close to Biale, visit Brzostowo, view from Burzyn, lunch at Wizna, visit Wizna fens along Narew river 17.00 — Visit Tykocin 18.00 — Supper at traditional restaurant: Kiermusy. 21.00 — Arrival at hotel; relax.

Wednesday, August 4

8.00 — Breakfast

9.00 — Leave by bus to Lower Basin.  (overview map)

9.30 - 15.30 — Explore Lower Basin by foot starting at Barwik ending at Gugny; field lunch, visit dune complexes, view points, tall sedge fens and reedlands (rubber boots).

16.00 - 22.00 — Visit King of Biebrza at Budy; traditional Polish camp fire and relax.

22.30 — Arrival at hotel; relax/sleep.

Thursday, August 5

7.30 — Breakfast

8.30 — Leave by bus to river at Wroceń

9.00-11.30 — Explore the river by kayak.  (overview map)

11.30 — Pick up by bus at Goniadz.

11.30 - 16.00 — Drive to Warsaw Airport; lunch at road restaurant.

17.00 — Departure from Warsaw Airport.

19.00 — Arrival at Amsterdam Airport; End of the Excursion.
